Personal Home Care Attendants
Are available to eligible Medicaid recipients through the Department of Aging & Disability Services (D.A.D.S). A personal attendant will provide assistance with personal care and light housekeeping tasks.
Personal care tasks include:
- Bathing, incontinence care
- Grooming, hair & skin care
- Meal preparation
- Exercise, accompanying you for walks
- Assisting with transferring
- Grocery shopping
- Escorting the patient to and from doctor’s appointments and the grocery store
Housekeeping tasks include:
- Laundry: clothes & linens
- Taking out the trash
- Cleaning: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, light dusting, cleaning the bathroom, and washing dishes.
